Will be staying at a nice little cottage in a small town about an hour west of Philly. Any recs? Looking at Honeybrook and Tattersall, but a quick look at Google maps shows golf courses everywhere within a 1/2 hour's drive.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Tattersall (technically now Broad Run) is a great layout, just played it a couple weeks ago. Heard good things about Honeybrook, never played it, though. IMO, invest the drive time and head out to Iron Valley in Lebanon, PA. Beautiful tract.

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

I played Honeybrook on Sunday morning. Very nice, second tier course. For this time of year the course was in spectacular shape. Broad Run is a bit pricier, but I haven't played it yet this season so I don't know what the conditions are like (although most courses are holding up well this summer here).

I'd also consider the Golf Course at Glen Mills and Wyncote. If you want some in-depth reviews of the courses around Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Joe Logan has a ton of reviews posted on line.

I forgot about Wyncote, played that for the first time this year. Beautiful layout, and it wasn't even green when I played it.

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

Played Wyncote, Honeybrook and Inniscrone (twice). All allowed walking, which is a plus. Loved Inniscrone. Love Irish style courses. Loved the long par 4s. Two quirky holes - the short par 3 and the one with the double fairway. Will go back one day and get revenge on those holes I made a mess of.

    • We will never know but plenty of players have turned down LIV offers. I'm sure they like their money too but doesn't seem like it's an obvious choice. So when the 0.0001% level wealthy choose to be 0.000001% uber wealthy, the trade-off does magnify moral delinquency. Now that his (BDC) pockets are grotesquely overflowing with blood money, he wants be a national treasure. What a phony. Eff him.

    • One thing that isn't straightforward is that your differential won't necessary match a golf score. For example, on the course/tees I played last weekend a 79 is a 6.9 differential and an 80 is a 7.7. We had to stop after 15 due to lightning and my differential was a 7.3, which is the equivalent of shooting 79.4. Statistically it makes sense but intuitively it took me a minute to get it. Of course, the USGA may be aware that occasionally I don't finish my putting stroke.
