I really feel for Rose. I kind of followed him for awhile - remember when he had a long string of missed cuts on the Euro Tour when he turned pro and was supposedly the next sensation.  He really is major-worthy, imo.  Sorry that he just couldn't close the deal over the weekend. Wouldn't surprise me that he comes back and competes at the Masters. He's led in Augusta after two rounds in the past - maybe all of these stumbles will make him even stronger.

Maybe he needs to pay Steve Stricker a visit soon.

I kinda think this may come down to Tiger and Phil. I'm sure CBS is hoping it will.

In my Callaway stand bag:

9.5 Degree Taylormade Burner Superfast Adilla Voodoo shaft
3 Wood: Cleveland Launcher 15 degree Adilla Voodoo shaft
Irons 3-SW: Callaway X-14 Steelhead

Lob wedge: Cleveland 60 degree

Putter: Ping Anser Karsten

Rose doesn't putt well enough to win at Augusta.  Too many slippery 5-8 footers.

Anyone know where I can get a couple Tuesday practice round tickets for me and my dad? We've been talking about going for a long time and now I live close so figured I'd give it a shot. Thanks.

That's true, but his short game has improved no end thanks to his swing improvements, so hopefully he can nail them all in to around 3 feet!

Only place I know is Ebay. Might cost about $250 each. I lived in Augusta for six years and used to go out at about 4 pm and picked up a couple of practice round tickets from "patrons" as they exited. I paid them face value back then. It gave me a friend a couple of hours to walk the grounds, see some players (TW one year).  Not sure if that works anymore (this was back in early 2000s).

Supply and demand.   And after Tiger's win at Bay Hill, I expect demand is up even more than normal.    Sheesh, think what they tickets will go for if the Masters happens to the venue for Tiger's 18th or 19th major!

Those are just prices for practice rounds --------look for regular badges for the 4 rounds and they're going for $4k/each.  I've been to my share of Masters from 1997-2006, including several practice rounds. Once you've been there a couple of times and seen the grounds, you're still better off w/ the best seat being your living room w/ Jim Nance.

Recommend attending at least one practice round for most avid golfers if possible - just to walk the course and see the elevation changes, the immaculate fairways/greens, and pristine nature of the course.

Augusta hotels/motels jack up their rates 3-4x (scalping).  If you ever get your hands on tickets, best to stay at Columbia, SC (70 miles),  GA, maybe Thomson, GA (17 miles), Aiken (30-40 miles) then drive in to Augusta National.

yeah, i have looked on all of the ticket websites and the cheapest i've seen is $450 per ticket for Tuesday practice round. I've heard that if you drive into Augusta or just before you get there, there are people selling tickets for $200-300. I know they are somewhat strict about scalpers being so many yards away from the entrance but I have also heard of buying tickets from people leaving for the day. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Thanks for the help, my dad is flying in on Monday and we already have a hotel in Columbia.

I used to buy tickets at about 4 pm after I got off from work (I lived in Augusta for 6-7 years). I'd stand outside a gate as people came out. You'd get 2-3 hrs of viewing: visit the practice area/range or got to walk the course - good enough for me if I couldn't get tickets through the lottery or other ways. That was about ten years ago. I'd give people the face value for the practice round ticket (I think $20-25). The ticket could get back through the gates. Don't know if they allow that anymore. BTW, this doesn't work during the tournament. The badges are protected by owners for obvious reasons.

Well I think I found some for $250 a piece for Tuesday's practice round. I am thinking I should jump on them since the best I've seen so far is $400. Anyone that has gone before think that is a good deal or should I wait and try to scalp them on Tuesday morning? Thanks for the help.

My prediction is Dustin Johnson wins.

I've got bets on:

- Rose

- Schwartzel

- Kuchar

- Garcia

didn't want to go for the favourites, so went with a couple of outside bets and far out bets

I'd love to see Tiger or Poulter - nobody else really moves the needle for me right now.

I am one of the few people out there who actually like both Tiger and Phil a lot . I honestly hope it comes down to Tiger winning, but I have a feeling Phil will be extremely close. He's been within striking range quite a few times this year and I think it's his time.

Of course, I also have Phil @ -10 for the Prediction Contest also! lol

    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
