The Callaway X Hot and X Hot Pro

what is the difference between the x hot and x hot pro other than the slightly smaller size? I have heard that you can possibly get a little more distance out of the X Hot Pro, is that true? I hit my callaway x hot dirver 10.5 degree incredibly so and while i was at golfsmith i got to test the pro out but their machine was down so i didnt get to check the data.

The difference between the X Hot and X Hot Pro is that the Pro has a smaller head, deeper face, no crown graphics and a different stock shaft.

You may hit the pro further and you may not. It really depends on your swing and which club fits it better.

This.  When I went through the fitting process, I ended up with the X Hot 3W... Not the X Hot Pro.  And I'm pretty impressed with the club, even with the stock shaft.

Same here. I prefer the x hot pro driver, but regular x hot 3wood. It's all just preference and what works for you.

i like the setup with the callaway x hot with the fujikura motore F1 shaft, but the golf smiith that i had went to did not have that shaft when i demo'd the x hot pro, it what the matrix 7m3 black tie shaft. It was a nice feeling shaft, but the stiff feels more like a x-stiff shaft. i loved my old r11 with the white board shaft. that is the setup that i am going for if i get the pro. it is sleek and the looks bring confidence, atleast for me. i will not disagree with the fairway, it is a lot better in the x hot and not the pro version.

I liked the XHot in the 4 and 5 wood - shaft length is too long. Stock shaft was smooth and has kick. If I bought, I'd customize it with a slightly heavier shaft and shorter length, or a light shaft and hot melt.

I hit the XHot at the range and was impressed.

I went with an RBZ Stage 2 Tour 5 wood because I like the adjustability, the head was slightly smaller (more playable) and distance was a push.

Even though I really like XHot ... and may end up with one in the future.

Bringing back a slightly old thread.

Got fitted and picked up an X Hot Pro 3 wood (15 degrees Project X Velocity 6.0) the other day. I have to say I was incredibly impressed with this club. I am usually a Titleist guy for woods, but the Cally X Hot Pro consistently outperformed the Titleist 913F and Fd on the launch monitor. For me, the X Hot Pro was longer AND had a tighter dispersion. I was really impressed with how hot the face felt as well as the performance of the stock PX Velocity shaft.

I had never purchased a Callaway club before, but they did a great job with the X Hot fairway woods and I will definitely look at some of their other offerings next time I am in the market for a new stick.

At recent demo day, I hit the 3Ws and 5Ws in both versions of the woods. PXv R.Flex (58 gram) in X.Hot seemed to work well; PX 5.5 or higher in the X.Hot Pro was a little hard to handle.

I currently play use last year's RBZ 3W.HL (4W ) and 7W. The X.Hot got about 20 more yards (in part due to stronger loft?), and was definitely easier to control. (RBZ has 45 gr. stock shafts - a little light).

RBZ Stage 2 (R.flex, 60 gr. shaft) felt more solid than original RBZ, but didn't get the distance of the X.Hot.

I got a solo conversation with the Callaway rep for about 15 minutes at the end. He said you could order a PXv shaft in a Pro head for no upcharge. Looks like Callaway going a bit more "custom" in its woods.

Shafts and face angle are the only differences unless there is size difference. The pro will be a bit more open, while the normal might have a draw bias.

Size is also a difference as covered above. The Pro does have an open face while the standard version is square.

The Pro is neutral, while the regular model is draw biased.  The post above gives the impression that the X Hot is neutral, which it is not.

I am going to chime in on this and I say that I am extremely impressed with my X Hot 3 wood.  It hits so well I wish I had bought it much sooner.

I'd urge any golfer to put down the ego and select the head that fits you. Many good players choose the non-pro head of many OEMs. Look at Bubba Watson - not an Anser, but the G25...

When the say "draw bias", so it's weighted a little more towards the heel - probably 90% of golfers need that help, especially in the driver and lower lofted fairways.

Back in winter 2008, I began ditching stiff shafts in favor of regular shafts. After testing out assorted drivers on different days, I got a driver fitting. In two hours, I hit several shots each with six different driver model loft and shaft combos. I ended up going with Callaway HyperX Tour (10.5*, square face) with an R.flex 68-gram Fuji E360 shaft (midKick and MidTorque). This worked really well for me.

A few weeks later, I tested out the XTour 3W (15*, square ) with the same shaft. Once I got it outdoors, however, the 3W was an iffy club. It always worked well off the tee, but in weeks I wasn't swinging that well I had trouble getting the ball up. On uphill shots on Par 5s, I would sometimes hit a solid shot, only to have the ball clip the top of the hill and bounce off to wherever. Part of the problem: the practice ranges I used had slightly elevated tees, so I was getting an exaggerated idea of how high I hit the ball.

So, the pro head and mid-kick shaft worked fine on the driver (I was hitting off a wooden tee), but not so well on the 3W.

I switched out both last year. The HXT driver had a total weight of about 330 grams, and felt "heavy" in weeks I played multiple rounds. The replacement RazrFit weighs about 300 grams and had a high launch shaft, and I don't have to press as much when I hit the ball. (Also, I was 57 in 2008, and I'm 62 right now. Possible aging factor...)
