When I heard Tiger's post 2nd round interview I knew he had just admitted his violation of rule 26-1a.  I went online, golf channel, espn, cbs, nobody was talking about it.  I googled it and THIS was the only site I found discussing it.  The link said

Quote:
2013 Masters Discussion Thread, Update with Possible Illegal Drop from Tiger Post #343

I was not a member of the site.  Post 343 was made by the administrator, Iacas.

I don't care much about Tiger.  Admire his skills, not his person.  The administrator is obviously a fan of both, and has little patience with anyone who doesn't share his own bias.

Today I returned to that thread and posted a link to a youtube video that not only disproved the brief notion that he had actually hit from almost exactly the same spot, but also quoted Feherty predicting he would drop a couple yards back before he even did it.  That post has disappeared, and while looking back a couple pages for it, I found where the administrator has forbidden any further discussion of the topic he himself brought up.

This is not about Tiger to me.  It is just as much about Feherty's obvious identical lack of knowledge of the most commonly applied rule in the game, and Faldo sitting there never correcting him.

My limited experience on other forums defines the administrator as basically the owner of it.  I like hearing from other knowledgeable people on topics of interest to me.  I appreciate analytical thought.

I suspect I have just made myself unwelcome here to the owner of this site, and this post will also be deleted, and I will be banned.  If that is the case, I understand.  Good luck to you all, and thanks for briefly providing a place for a discussion that obviously needed a forum.

Wrong. Fan of the golfer - couldn't care less about whether he's a good or a bad person.

I posted twice that the discussion about the rules was done. The second time it was in bold. Several posts (pro and con) were removed for violating the rule.

Stop assuming; it makes you look ignorant.

That discussion can take place in other threads, as directed. The Masters thread, however, should now be about celebrating a great Saturday and Sunday, and Adam Scott's victory.

You've outed yourself as a person capable of being whiny and ignorant.

And since you titled the thread "Tiger wasn't the only one who did not know the rule." there are two possible responses.

If you meant you, you're right: you clearly didn't read the rule in the thread directing you to carry the conversation on elsewhere.

If you meant me, I knew the rule - I was the first to point it out, as you correctly noted in your post. Saturday morning brought the knowledge that the Committee had ruled while he was still playing - something I didn't know at 7:33 when Tiger gave his interview. So I didn't get the rule wrong. If the committee had not ruled, he'd have been DQed.

Your thread serves no real point, and will be locked (and renamed).

Stop assuming things. It doesn't make you look good, nor does it lead to a very good experience on the forum.

    • Day 37, June 10.  Today was primarily WFH, so I had several practice sessions (indoors, off a mat, into the net).  At least one each of U, 9, and 6-iron full swings with the usual priority.   I also tried a few times a putting type stroke with my 4H, as something I should probably learn how to hit (and what it does), but the mechanical shot at home off a mat doesn't tell me much of what it's doing.  That's something I should probably try on a real green, not during a round until I've tried it.
    • Day 10 (10 Jun 26) - Played in the midweek shootout at my home course - on aerated and sanded greens - day of trying to figure tempo to get the best roll on the greens.  Approach game was decently solid as was shots off the tee.
    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
