Need a decent Rangefinder - Suggestions needed!

2 posts in this topic

I am currently in need of a decent rangefinder. I actually never had one and always relied on course markers and/or my iPhone which I haven't really had the patience to use lately. Can anyone recommend a decent laser rangefinder in the $100-150 range? If you know of one that is accurate and reliable for even less, that would be great as well. Since I have never used one before, I really do not want to drop $200 or $300 on something that I am not 100% sure I will like, or use enough to make it worthwhile.

EDIT: Apparently, the only thing at $100-150 is a LaserLink which requires the course to have reflectors. It seems I have no choice but to move the cost to $200-300 now

Thanks!

I have a Nikon LR550 that I love. It's a basic model with pin seeker technology that I picked up from TGW on sale for less than $150 a few years ago. This was my first rangefinder as well, and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something I wasn't sure about. I'm really happy with it, and I have yet to replace batteries after 2 years of regular use.

Good luck!
