I've always felt like my downswing is too steep and slightly over the top (see pictures). It's almost as if I am hitting at the ball instead of letting the clubhead do the work. Compared to this , it looks as if I am throwing my hands down instead of tucking them and lagging the clubhead. Does anyone have any drills or swing thoughts to combat this? Thanks.

My swing is "kinda" steep...I cut across the ball a little, but that's just my swing..I kinda have my dad's swing since he taught me...It's not really the reverse C but sort of..

I don't think theres anything wrong with your swing...I think some people are way too flat.

Your club shaft is between your arms, so you can't be too over the top. If it's outside (above) your arms you've definitely got problems.
