I've been looking for a club in between my 3 iron and 3 wood and came across this callaway X prototype iron. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on that club or another club to fill that gap between the 2 clubs. Thanks

I generally hit my Callaway 3 Hybrid 20* longer than I hit any 3 iron, so that might be a thought. If your 3 wood is around 13-15*, then a Hybrid around 18-21* might fill that gap for you. I am not knocking long irons, by the way. I resisted hybrids for years, but tried a couple that worked great for me and now I am hooked.

I read it the day you put it on this site and I bought one off eBay that night. So if I don't like it I'm blaming you.

Dang...maybe I should have bashed it then. I love it because I don't like longer hybrids.  1. I am not very tall.  2.  I don't like graphite shafts in general very much.  3.  I cannot hit a hybrid off of a tee.  With my G20 GI irons I was always hitting them out on the toe because the hosel sticking out so far made me want to address the ball out on the toe more.  If you use the utility off of a tee you may have to tee it a bit lower than you would a normal iron.  Which one did you get?

Yeah its 110 with shipping but still almost half retail. I have a 3 iron I hit pretty well and I like my 3 wood but I struggle hitting it off the tee. I was kinda hoping the 18 will be my club off the tee on short or real tight holes.
