I think it may be the case that many people think "celebrities" are smarter, more educated, more "street smart" than "regular people" simply because they appear in the paper or on tv. We give them too much credit in this regard.

All good points. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, they say. Ignorance of the rules of golf is similarly no excuse. And, to go one more step, ignorance of the etiquette in handling the U.S. flag is no excuse either.

I doubt her dad made the trip to France, yeah. I don't need an apology from Natalie on this, or the LPGA. I'd be happy if the persons involved simply learned a little flag etiquette from this incident going forward. I personally don't have a problem with the U.S. flags painted on faces or even stitched on Solheim Cup clothing - I think that's one area where the "official flag etiquette" goes overboard - but touching the ground, upside down, and sitting on it... those are the biggies. Hopefully they'll learn.

I agree with that. She made a mistake, let's not drag her through the mud for it. Hopefully someone will tell her and she'll be better for it in the future.

Gang....

Did you watch the Solheim last time it was staged? She and the American woman were so PRO-USA that it warmed my heart. A hell-of-a-lot better than the men's team, that's for sure.

She is so proud of being an American and she shows it! Here she is in France, and wants EVERYONE to know she's an American who WON!

Not the best set-up.... but the fact remains she is a TRUE AMERICAN

Congrats to Nat!
