Should They Have Watered the Greens at the British Open?

Course conditions change all the time due to weather.  I don't think the course officials should artificially adjust the green speeds to maintain consistency.  Varying green speeds are part of the game and Tiger knows that.

As others said, if his approach shots were better he would have had less issues with the putter.

I think the green speeds slowed down over the weekend not just due to the watering but the cooler weather. Saturday temps were in the 60s and Sunday was very cool and cloudy. You have to remember Thursday the temperature over there was in the 80s and Friday the greens were just as fast......they were slower for Tiger Friday because he teed off in the morning, but they were baked out by the afternoon. I think the R&A; was just trying to avoid the greens getting out of control because of the winds picking up over the weekend, so I understand their reasoning for trying to keep them playable.

I just think yesterday they were slow yesterday because it was foggy overnight, adding some extra moisture on the greens, and it was cool on Sunday.
