my wife and I are thinking of joining our local country club so we have more access to the golf course as well as some of the other benifits they offer like pool and so on. I was in there today and when I asked about the membership the club pro was the one to come out and talk to me. seemed like a really nice guy young guy at that. and I also asked him about lessons and prices on them as I would like to start taking some lessons to improve my game. and there are a few PGA instructors around but they are quite some distance from me. what I was wondering is there some questions that one should ask when searching for an instructor?

I would also ask for before and after videos and perhaps a quick overview of them - causes and fixes.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.
