I've been Playing Golf for: 3 years on off

My current handicap index or average score is: 100+ score

My typical ball flight is: to the right/slice, hit driver high slice everytime

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: shank/slice.

I'm probably not the one to ask, but the things I see are:

good turn

good straight left arm

looks like right arm is folding a little  prematurely on the backswing.

you could more than likely have more control by shortening the backswing a little (not necessary to get parallel at the top unless you can maintain control). Keep elbows more in to the torso.

your arms are in front of the body through most of the swing which is good. (as opposed to getting "stuck" behind the body).

I thought I saw a little "twitch" at the top of the swing where the plane changed a few degrees

coming down, club face was fairly open, but looked as though you got it pretty square at impact.

good extension

good finish.

all in all, from my untrained eye, a decent looking swing.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

This vid has a slow motion

And for the record i do have trouble getting the club square at impact especially with longer clubs. its horrible with driver. Always slice to out of bounds or holes fairway

It looks like you're swinging a LOT from the outside and in, producing a slice. Look at where your feet, hips and shoulders are aimed and the path your club takes. Not sure where you are aiming. It seems like your shoulders are pointed way left of where your feet are. I'd work on my setup first, squaring the clubface towards the target first and then getting parallel with feet and shoulders. That's a good first step!

Coming from outside to in on downswing right?

I was trying to aim the direction the ball flew but yea it looks my feet are aiming way right, like my right foot is far back and my shoulders more left. Could that be causing that out to in swing path?

Yes, it looks like you're coming from the outside and in on the downswing. There are a lot of things that could cause it. I've been working on my own over-the-top swing for a bit, so I'm probably not the guy to ask! It also kind of looks like you're trying to "lift" the ball with a very steep follow-trough. Try working on hitting down on the ball, and getting that swing to be less from the outside in. There are a lot of great resources on this forum, check out the videos on "five simple keys"!

    • Our home course would be very interesting.  It is short from the black tees (around 6000 yards) and very few holes are considered not reachable in GIR for golfers who drive max 250 off the tee.  But there are two difficulties.  Only 3 holes don't have an OB though admittedly in some cases it is just behind the green.  The harder part is almost all the fairways slope away on both sides from the centre meaning if you hit a draw or fade, you are likely to wind up at the edge of the fairway or off into the rough if you bounce in the wrong place.
    • I assume the 3 iron in your iron set would do the job.  If you don't have the club, you should be able to buy it as a single club
    • Day 45 (16 Jun 24) -  Happy Father's Day all - got in a few swings with the clubs, focused on alignment for chipping and pitching.  For me if the target it 12noon, I need to have my feet somewhere around 11 for a solid dead on line pitch/chip.  Worked from about 5yds out to 25yds.  Worked through a series of clubs - 54, PW, 8i and 6i - noting flight patterns of each.
