i tend to hook the ball, especially off the tee. Any thoughts and advice? I hook more than I slice. I'm thinking it has to do with my down-swing and follow through? Any tips?

How do you define hook?

i'm right handed, so it flies from right to left.

I still think some more detail would be good. I've seen people call pure blocks and pulls "slices" and "hooks," and there's a big difference between (for example) a push-hook and a pull-hook.

So, relative to your target, where does your ball start out and then what does it do?

Sorry to infuse my tee problems here too, but I have been hitting a snap hook for the past two weeks off the tee. My ball will start out low and straight and then gradually curve left about 100 yards into flight. At the range, I can fix the problem, but out on the course, its in my head too much. Any suggestions?

Had the same issue earlier this year.

Here's what worked for me.

Where does it start, at the target, slightly right, slightly left, way right, way left? Where does it end up? Is it a 10 yard hook? 20? 50?

I just got my hook figured out at the range today too. It was all in my grip. When I would grip the club my hands were twisted to the left a little, so after my back swing the club face would be slightly closed. I adjusted my grip so my hands were straight (thumbs lined up and pointing straight down) and I went from hooking and shanking to the right to knocking them right down the middle. I think I may have overdone the adjustment a bit though, because after a few shots, my slice started showing again. I'll have to tweak it a bit next time.

thanks for everyone's advice. i figured out that my club face is slightly closed upon impact. thats why it hooks left.
