I tee up high so that the equator of the ball is above the driver and I have 10.5 taylormade burner. I rarely get any elevation with my driver and always hugging the ground.. luckily I live in hot climate and ball rolls a lot. I would say my the ball flies around 200 yards and rolls another 30+ yards.

My 3 wood when I tee up gets me 250, 20+ yards more than driver. But my ego wont let me put the driver in the bag.

What should I do to get some elevation with my driver for a longer carry?

Might be playing the ball too far back, might not have enough weight forward and stretching enough into the followthrough.  Take a look at the videos below.  Also play the ball off your left toe.

Saw those videos and I know that my weight is getting stuck on the right foot is a big problem, kinda like falling backwards. When i get that moving forward i get good distance. I tee up against my left toe for sure.

There are too many variables.

Could be your swing.

Could be the shaft (improper kick-point).

Not to be an a$$, but isn't the ball off the left toe subjective to your stance? Like if you had a very wide stance with your foot way past your shoulder, you wouldn't want to do this, right? I have heard this method and lining up the ball with a driver with your armpit or shirt logo. Just wondering which one is better, or if they're both fine.

Yes I like to see the ball in front of the left shoulder so the golfer doesn't have to change their swing (hang back) to have a positive angle of attack.  I think having the lead foot/toes as a reference point makes it more simple and easier for someone to measure.  It's a good first step and based on their feedback could lead to more advice/detail.  Since I haven't seen this person's swing and I'm just going off what they're telling me, I try to keep it as simple as possible.  What you're saying isn't wrong, just different layers of detail.  I'm guessing that any amount of ball forward will help the OP.

This is tricky. I had the same problem. Thought it was my swing but that is a littke harder to change than equipment. I played around with some different driver/shaft combos at a local golf shop. I finally found one that gave me what I was looking for. An 8.5 degree with a grafalloy blue shaft with a low kick point. A higher degree loft gave me too much spin. I was able to increase the launch angle and keep the spin rate down. Added 20-30 yards on my drives and still kept a little rollout. You have to find what works for you.

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
    • Day 12 - 2025-12-31 Limited time today, and heavy rains here. 5-10 minutes of mirror work for full swing, working on trail side.
