I always make a super lame excuse, One of my spikes must be loose! My gloves a bit tight! Forgot to put my golf socks on! My hat was too far forward! I used the wrong colour tee! It's become a running gag now, who can make up the lamest excuse? We've even had,.. Last time I golf wearing my wife's underwear!

This is brilliant.

No witty comebacks here sadly.  I just sarcastically mutter to myself "that'll play".

This thread made me think of this video.

LOL.

This is off topic but the video reminds me.  There is one course that red tee is placed far behind white tee b/c it is a par 5 for women instead of par 4 for men.   But guys don't get it and think it was placed there by mistake.   Instead of minding their own business and play from white tee, they switch back the tees so that red tee is in front of white tee.   The hole already plays 450 yards for men b/c it is long, uphill, and against the wind.  By moving the tee back further, it become almost par 5 hole for men.  At this point, men have 3 choices.  Switch the tees  back to front (be a good Samaritan for groups behind)  and hit from there, hit from white tees (now at where par 5 red tee is), or hit from red tees (which is where white tee should be).   Some will go with choice #3, hit from red tee.

For those who are governed by golf rules, what says you?   Most weekend golfers on the course are playing scramble golf but I'd be interested in what you would do.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
