Cleveland makes great irons. I have two sets of the TA1's. They are sweeeet! I haven't tried the new CG1 Black Pearls yet, but I here they are softer and a touch longer (probably due to the stronger lofts).

I have to agree. I would suggest the CG2 irons or the CG4 Tour model. Both are very workable, very soft feeling, and look fantastic at address. I personally carry the CG2 model and they are great!

glad you went for the MP60's - get your handicap and ball striking down to scratch level and maybe the TM MB's or MP 67/32 will be the way to go.

I've played with lots of 5-15 handicaps with players clubs/blades - it can be an ego thing too - some golfers associate blades with ability/handicap (the same way they think driver loft should be lower for lower handicap).

I just picked up a set of Mp-60's. I just started playing again after a few years off. I picked up a set of R7 draws this season and liked them alot, however I love the MP-60's. I thought they might be harder to hit,but I haven't had any problems after my first round. I picked up a set from ebay, that had Aldila NV Graphite shafts, not my first choice,as I have never played Graphite irons before. However I haven't had any problems with them, and hit them well and love the feel. Not to mention for $370 shipped and they were in great shape and came with 2 Mizuno MP R Wedges I couldn't pass up the chance to try them.

I just started this year, but have had the chance to play 4-5 times a week- so I too am a mid-teens handicap.

I started out with a set of custom-made clubs from Fiddler's Green our local pro shop- but felt that I had reached a plateau in that they could deliver...

I demo'd no less than 10 of the most popular clubs (Hot List, mags etc.) including the newest releases clubs from PING, Callaway, and Nike and just ordered a new set of the Taylormade Burner XDs.

For me the differences in the feel, distance and accuracy were glaring. I was hitting between 8-10 yeards longer on every club, and the loft of each shot was amazing...nothing I had been able to ever achieve. What is even more amazing to me, is that the clubs are de-lofted...most being 2-5 degrees shallower loft than the average set- and yet I was hitting high, pure, clean shots that dropped softly onto the target.

Now- I am just waiting for my set to arrive...it is going to be a long two weeks.

Give them a try if you can find a place to demo them. For those of us in the low-to mid teens, these seem like a real chance to break us into a single digit handicap.

the callaway x-forged jumped off the face with a nice feel but they had a lot of bottom weighting which caused me to baloon them... the rac mb's were a great feeling club to me; definately on par with the mp-60's i got... and finally titleist, i couldnt stand them im sorry. (although i like their woods) they were very hard and didnt feel as sweet as the mizunos. nothing feels better to me then a purely hit mizuno

it was basically between the mb;s and the mizunos in the end, but since i have used mizuno's custom department before and they deliver consistently i went with them. as i get better (i already have with these clubs), im going to look into the mp-67 or the mb's again down the road. but for now, i cant get enough of these clubs..

go with the titleist 735cm ... i garrentee that they will never harm ur game. i bought myself the 755 irons ( custom fitted ) and i already lowered by round by 5 strokes the first day out. I am an average 5-7 handicaper anyway....they have such a feel i cannot explain.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
