I actually got my handicap from golf.com this year (trying something new) amd you can track all these stats and input them with you scores. After a few rounds it calculates everything for you.. Putt per hole, putts per GIR, GIR %, GIR% when fairway hit, ect.. I purchased a small book and started trackin 11 of the 12 stats (driver distance was too time consuming) and I anaylize my stats from time to time. They really let you know what to work on. The 12 categories you can track are:

Mulligans isn't a statistic, it's a crutch.

I find it hard to believe that a statistic tracker would actually factor in something as silly as mulligans. Even using one mulligan on a round pretty much invalidates the entire round, IMO. It certainly can't be applied for a valid handicap. I've nothing against an occasional mullie in a practice round or with a foursome where it's agreed upon as part of the game that day, but to track it as a stat just seems a bit loose to me. If I take a mulligan on a round, then that round is strictly for fun, and no stats from the round are worth tracking.

I have no problem with mulligans so long as people call them what they truly are: declaring the first ball immediately unplayable, adding a penalty stroke, and playing from the original spot. In other words, go ahead and ignore your bad shot, play your mulligan... and add two to your score.

Like you are saying, declaring the first ball unplayable and counting all the strokes is well within the rules, but that isn't a Mulligan. In my experience a Mulligan has always just been a "do over", with no penalty, not even counting the previous stroke. It's like the bad shot didn't happen, rewind the film and start over.

What anyone I ever played with called a Mulligan is a penalty free reload, and that is what my previous post referred to.

You can choose not to track them. There is a little blip stating that you agree that the info you are about to post conforms with USGA prior to posting. I personally dont track Mulligans but it an option should someone like to track it.

Wednesday night I birdied three straight holes and only hit one green. I chipped in on one and made a putt from the fringe on the other. For that 3 hole stretch I had 1 putt. In total I had 11 putts for nine holes and only 2 GIR. I did have putts from the fringe on 4 holes as well en route to a 1 over 32.

    • Shot a +1 73 today. Pretty pleased with the round even though it could have been 3-4 strokes lower without hitting it much different. 1 topped tee shot, a thinned wedge over the green from 40yds, and 2 putts that hung on the lip all could have made this a phenomenal round. 4 birdies total. Had an interesting back 9, 3 birdies, 3 pars, 3 bogeys and a penalty stroke. Birdied 1 and 18 so that was a fun way to start and end the round.
    • Try some Tour Balatas and an Alien wedge….😏
    • Fresh out of the box. Grooves look fine.
    • Day 17 (18 May 24) - after band rehearsal this morning got home to a rainy afternoon so no outside stuff today.  Had some things to tackle in the shop, so I took the time to roll some putts on the rugs in the shop.  Able to work on tempo and distance control as I have a rug that rolls really well…so it makes for some fun work with the putter.
    • What ball were you using and how fresh are the grooves on your wedges? I practice chip shots with my gamer, and while it's a lower spin ball I'm still able to hit it. Not necessarily the one hop then stop on a dime, but a low one that hops once with a ton of spin and trickles maybe a few feet.
