I am by no means an expert, but that's an awfully nice swing you got there.  Hopefully, you'll get some good pointers from another member who knows more than me.

Golf is hard.

There is a slight sway most likely because you need to flare your feet out at set up and not enough hip turn in the backswing because if that.. Also looks like you release the club really early in the downswing and there is major casting going on.. If you are a 9 hcp I suggest you only get instruction from the guys at evolvr as that will help you get to next level if you are serious about improving.. I think they will help you get more distance too in my opinion..

thanks, Sounds about right, I'll look in to that. Distance isn't really an issue though.

I see the sway it's obvious now that you pointed it out, the casting , yes it might be some of that left, the release yeah i'll work on it but it might prove difficult my right vrist is almost stiff due to an old injury.

You are standing a bit to much over your toes, and your head is slightly to high. I bet you look down your nose at the ball, rather than have it centered in your eyes. Look at Rory on the left, his head is down, standing closer, weight balance between the heels and the balls of his feet. So stand a bit closer, head looking down at the ball more, arms hanging more under your neck and shoulders than over your chin and nose, and better weight distribution.

I would take your current feet width, and just rotate your heels inward a bit. This will flare your feet, and help with hip rotation and keeping your weight forward at impact. Just a standard tip, helps fixes some stuff for free.

Yea you got a bit of a sway there. It looks like its because you are over extending your right side by raising your hands way to high. Which means you are either over swinging or you are not opening your hips early enough in the back swing. I would try to get more flex in the left leg in the back swing, and keep the left knee from going towards the ball that much. Get your right hip to go up and back sooner. Your right leg should straighten out a bit (not lock).

The final thing I see is you are flipping at the ball. Your left hand should be ahead of the ball at impact. Yours is inline, which isn't ideal for an iron shot.

Sounds like excellent advice, I'll work on that next time at the indoor range. It's about 10f outside so outdoors isn't really an option.

I'm at home,having a cold, fever, "sniffels" what have you.

however I am in my week state trying to stop my casting and swaying.

What do you guys think?

Feet are too square, knees are rotated inward. Flare the feet out and turn the knees out as well. Will help with the proper knee linkage to keep the hips centered.

With the swing it will feel like the left knee flexes slightly inward and "towards the camera" (if a camera was filming you from face on). Note how the right hip moves away from that green line.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.   
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls. 
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.  
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
