Ping is the most expensive set of clubs aside from taylormade or nike. All of their clubs are going to be expensive, but im not sure on the actual fair price of a used set of G2's depending on their condition. Are you getting these off ebay?

unfortunately you haven't mentioned if they are graphite or steel, what year they were bought, nor the condition.
I will agree the price sounds high, but if they have hardly been used and in great condition they might be worth it....but even still I would look at spending some more and get used i3's or G5's.

Id get them off of ebay. You can probably find a better deal or just as good there. If you cant rely on ebay. If you say they are in good condition, id go for them. What would you give them on a scale of 10?

For that price for the G2s, wouldn't you be able to get a new set of G5’s at that price soon once the G5s come out? At Golf Smith, you can get a set of used G5s for $650 and if you need graphite it’s only $50 more.

I was looking at a set of used Ping g2 - 3-pw - they are $429- is that too much? seemed a little high....

This seems a little high, especially considering the G10s will be out Sept 1st. I think you could get a deal in the 350-ish range if you are patient. For what it's worth, Ping is pricing the G10s 50 dollars lower than the outgoing G5s.

You may be able to get a used set of G5s in the 400 range very soon.

    • Which makes it tougher to win tournaments, and speaks to the strength and depth of fields. It's unknowable how to specifically rate a player (i.e. is Jack a 99.1 and Tiger is a 99.8?), but since the format for PGA Tour and major championships has remained basically the same, by comparing records and the players that took part, you can pretty directly compare across eras and derive that Tiger > Jack. Do you even know what side of this discussion I'm on? That's not my opinion or belief. Did you quote — and reply — to the right person? Doesn't seem like it. Okay, I think it's clear now you've replied to the wrong person. I have many times.
    • Fun to see a competitive Sunday leaderboard. Glad to see Viktor playing well again, especially after reading the story about him the other day where he didn’t seem to be in a great spot. Seems Joe gets him playing his best.
