too much backspin on drives?

i was hitting some balls at a netted range. its 150 max but the net is at a slant. any ways, i hit w/ my driver and the balls would be good height and about 125yards out the ball flys at a higher rate. is this because its too much back spin? also does that effect my distance since its going more up instead of out?

Yes, too much backspin. Are you hitting down on the ball possibly?? Also, have your shaft checked out to make sure it suits your swing. I'm beginning to realize that the most important part of a golf club is the shaft.

ya he couldnt be more correct, at the end of the day any modern 400+ cc driver is going to give you similar results, but a shaft can completely chagne your game. Get to a moniter and check your spin rates, if theyre too high get fit into a low spin shaft. The Diamana 63x blueboard is great for knocking down a little spin, but for way less money an aldila nv or ust proforce v2 should help. Other than that try putting the ball up a little more and swining up on it. A higher tee will also force the issue, and if ur hitting down on it, youll just pop up the ball. good luck
