Has anyone played the new Callaway and have any opinion if it's better than the DT Solo. Thanks, for any feedback in advance. Lefty Lar

I myself have not played it ... and, in fact, haven't played the DT Solo yet either.  But here is a fairly recent review from another member on them: http://thesandtrap.com/products/callaway-super-soft-golf-ball/reviews/4845 He seems to like them. ;)

I will say, though, that its hard for anybody to call any ball "better" than another.  They, like putters, are really more about personal preference.  You kinda gotta try it out and see how it feels, ya know??

Please read my review posted here of the Callaway Super Soft.....having played the So/Lo for some years as my go-to ball, I now give the nod to Callaway Super Soft-especially for those of us, like myself, with slower swing speeds.

Here's the link to my review here on TST website:

cheers.

GolfingDad,  You say: " You kinda gotta try it out and see how it feels, ya know??"

I agree entirely....but garnering a consensus -especially from fellow golfers with similar swing speeds can be informative and lead to more discerning purchases....as the author of the Super Soft Review I am comparing my experience with that of the So/Lo, as well as Wilson Duo and Fifty Elite and found that the Cally performs best all around.....as they say results may vary ...but if you search reviews of the Super soft across the internet you will, indeed be hard pressed to find a negative word -at least from those whose swing speed actually fits this ball.....info worth knowing as you begin stocking up on balls for the coming season....cheers

Of course ... that's why I linked your review. ;)

It also helps a lot that you also happen to know exactly how it compares to the Solo

Thanks  golfingdad.

Hope that my review might help some people make a somewhat more informed decision as they set out to the golf shop to stock up on golf balls for the new season.

I recommend that if one hasn't tried these various balls perhaps try to buy a sleeve of each and play them against each other in order to determine which best fits your game:  Callaway Super Soft (38 Compression), Wilson Staff Fifty Elite(50 compression) , Wilson Staff Duo( 40 compression) and Titleist DT So/Lo (FYI: So/Lo has the highest compression at 80 but its an excellent ball tee to green -again in the 20 dollar per dozen range.)

cheers.

    • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
