It seems to me there are 2 answers.  One for the average golfer, and one for the tour level golfer.

The average golfer's answer:

Lower lofted driver

Learn to hit a draw

Play the ball just a tad further back in your stance but keep your hands out front like you are hitting it as if it were further up in your stance

The tour level golfer:

deloft the club before impact but do not swing down on the ball.

play the ball further back in the stance

Most people don't hit the ball high enough to get the most out of their driver as it is. I can't see going to a lower loft with a driver just for the occasional into the wind shot (for any level golfer).

I have to learn to cope better in the wind as we do have windy days here quite frequently, the last few weeks have been unprecedented though with extreme winds.  My course is always breezy.

I appreciate everyone's words, particularly misty_mountainhop and RayG and will be trying to put it back, hands in front a bit and choke down the shaft but I think I have worked out that hitting the ball hard is my biggest problem.

Thanks again

Now- I will really confuse you! I've also heard and read about players who tee it up WAY HIGH into the wind figuring that it encourages an upward hit that reduces backspin so that the ball will bore thru the wind. I, however, do NOT follow this as I mentioned. Only because I tried it and it seemed to make me try and swing harder- which usually meant a crowned pop up to the shortstop or a thinned grass skimmer that stops just around the Ladies tee. For any golf problem, you are going to get all kinds of theories- I play with a guy who will take his 3 wd off the deck into a strong wind. Generally works for him. Ball stays relatively low with a fade that isn't out of control. He's not a long hitter, but he is usually chipping on and putting for par. I may do this on occasion as well. It comes down to what YOU feel your best option is. For a while, I played a 2I 'stinger' draw that was a go to shot, not only into the wind but maybe on that narrow hole with trouble right. Never really went more than 20-30 ft in the air the whole time and would take a nice roll. then those clubs were stolen and I lost the magic club for that shot. Right now, I have a Callaway FTiZ 13* fairway wood that I use off the tee strictly for these situations- either into a stiff breeze, or on several holes where the Driver is too much for the dogleg. It is useless for me off the deck, but a low tee and a normal swing keeps it flighted lower with a "baby draw" (as Miller likes to say).

I thought the OP said he hit it high?   I was responding to him, not the general public lol.

Hi @CrevSteve, I am a very new and young golfer(playing since Oct 2014) and also left-handed,so I'm trying everything I can to get the best of my recent skills. I found that standing a little too close to the ball makes me fade and a little too far = draw... That said i would also like to know if I can change my weight settings on my R9 supertri driver with the adjustable weight screws under the club-head. Also try changing not the placement of the ball but turning your right foot( because you left) a little outward, not a lot, e.g 2cm

Welcome to the forum @Enrico .

Changing setting will help fine tune your shots with the driver, but a better swing and set up will help more. Check out the threads below.
