so I have titleist ap1 714 up to the w1. so my wedge ranges are
pw- 44
w1- 48
then i have a 54 (ordered vokey to replace my old sand wedge which was 54)
and a 60 lob wedge

so it goes like this higher irons have 3 degree loft difference till it gets from my 7i-8i where it is a 4 degree loft

then from my w1 - sand - lob have a 6 degree loft difference.

I'm used to it this way, and will assume I will get the answer that if I'm used to it and it works for me keep it but thought id ask anyways in case there was a consensus on a better way.

Your mix of wedges needs to work for you, not for a vote of the TheSandTrap neighborhood. So, why switch?

To make yourself feel better, look at the Golf Digest What's In The Bag feature for a few months. You'll find quite an assortment of wedge lofts and full-shot distances.

Five or six degree gap between wedges is fine. I go 46-52-58.

I think you will find this is pretty common, but to each their own. One of the issues with the jacking of lofts (that PW would be strong for an old school 9 iron even) is the impact on the half shot. While a strong PW, due other clubhead factors, might fly like an old, more lofted, PW on a full shot, on those softer shots nearer the green is where you miss those 4 - 8 degrees of loft and have to plug it with gap wedges. While I have carried as high as a 62 degree wedge, these days I have dumped the lob wedge or anything higher than 58 degrees. For me, I just couldn't get consistent enough with it, but I also found that my issue wasn't the wedge. It was the shot before; I was looking for the lob wedge to bail me out of bad course management (e.g. ended up in rough, above the hole, short side, etc.)
