I'm heading to Orlando in early Oct. Going to play a little golf between work stuff. Seems to be a ton of courses. Here are a couple I'm thinking about playing

Mystic Dunes
Celebration
Champions Gate, both courses

Any input or suggestions are welcome.

One last question, how are the Disney Courses and whick one should I play.

thanks in advance.

Im in Orlando and my picks:

ChampionsGate (used to work there, GREAT tracks, even better service)
MetroWest
Southern Dunes

The disney courses are ok, but SO expensive compared to other places.

I think MetroWest is one of the best tracks in the area and usually has the most consistent greens.

I play out of MetroWest and I do demonstrations there as well.

Shingle Creek is also a great track. I have a range membership there.

I'm staying at Shingle Creek, I need to check and see how much the green fees are for guests.

Thanks for the help.

I agree that MetroWest is a very good course and more reasonably priced than the courses near the convention centers or attractions. Its where I play the most. If you are willing to drop some cash, I would also recommend you check out:
Orange County National (Q-School finals will be played there in November)
Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes (Greg Norman designed)
Grande Pines (Nick Faldo designed)
Falcon's Fire (same owner as MetroWest)

Ritz- I caddied there for a few months, decent course. VERY expensive green fees plus the tip for the forecaddie.

OCN- Blah... Just played them both (Panther and Crooked) for the first time in quite a while. Didnt like Crooked Cat at all, but enjoyed Panther Lake. Grande Pines- Never played there. Falcon's Fire- Terrible service and not a great course for the money... too expensive, too easy, bad greens

I'll be down there in two weeks. Here's the current lineup, which we can change if anyone's got suggestions (staying at Orange Lake, which explains so much golf there):

Sunday: Orange Lake Legends
Monday: 36 at Orange Co. National
Tuesday: twilight round at Magnolia Disney
Wednesday: ??, probably Orange Lake (but most courses seem especially crowded this day)
Thursday: Nicklaus New Course at Grand Cypress (it's my birthday, so hoping it lives up to the incredible reviews)
Friday: Orange Lake Legends
Saturday: ?? playing by ear and open to suggestions

Bay Hill, Heathrow, and Isleworth are all awesome but almost impossible to get on. Shingle Creek is a nice place, the course didnt wow me, but it was ariated 3 weeks ago. MetroWest is a very nice course, would recommend it. Just played Champions Gate, the International course and was very impressed. Its a Greg Norman design and is where David Ledbetter teaches out of.

    • Day 242 4-19 correct hip/chest movement in backswing. Less hip turn more chest turn. Did a bit of wrist arch stuff as well.
    • Day 42 (19 Apr 26) - Spent a bit of time working on maxing torso rotation…hit a few pitches to help reinforce.
    • Thanks - that was a total surprise…

    • First round at Quail Ridge: 47 + 47 = 94 *Note: It was 25+ mph winds with gust in the 35+ mph. It was also around 58 degrees. I felt like I was out in Oregon. The greens were very firm.  Driver was decent. It didn't cause me an issues.  Irons were the biggest issue. Just low point control was lacking. Mostly on the chunky side. Also, my irons were routinely 20-30 yards shorter than normal. Even on holes with a cross wind, the ball was just dying. We played an extra 9 holes after the first 18, and the wind died down by then. I stepped into a 9 iron, and it came up 15 yards short. I have no clue what is going on. I should not be hitting 9 irons 140 yards when I am hitting my driver 300 to 310 yards.  Warmup didn't give me much confidence. I just kept shanking every other iron shot. I didn't shank an iron during the round. I just felt all out of sorts today. Coordinate felt off.  yea, I have no idea if I am purposely slowing down my swing to feel my downswing piece. Again, I hit a decent 9 iron and lost 15 yards of carry. I hope this is just an off day.
