So, last night I had to change out the garbage disposal on the kitchen sink at my own house.  It got me to thinking.  I wonder what the other members on TST do when they have plumbing/HVAC issues.  I know what we all do if we have golf related issues.  I receive/received a lot of advice over the years that I have been on this site.  I do not have much golf knowledge to help others out that way, but I do have 13+ years experience in the plumbing/HVAC trade.  I am a licensed plumber in the state of WI, and have a certification to handle refrigerant.

If anyone has any questions relating to plumbing/HVAC, I would be willing to help.  Obviously this would not be company sanctioned and I can't make any guarantees.  I do have a bit of knowledge involving the trade and if I do not have the answer, I have a lot of contacts that can help.

I also realize someone could post there questions to a plumbing/HVAC forum and probably get a lot more different answers from different people, but sometimes it is nice to "talk" to someone you know somewhat.

Anyway the offer is out there.

Mods:  If this is out of line or not something you would like to see, feel free to close the thread.

My father was a plumber.  Before he passed, he did a lot of work for me. He taught me how to sweat copper and how to lay out the work.  Given that, I hire a plumber to do most work in my house.  They know what the current codes are and will do a better job.  I have a friend who has a plumbing business in town and always go to him.

Absolutely.  In general I would suggest doing what you do and hire the professional.  I was more thinking about small items or even just advice/opinions.  Such as, "I am building a new house, what are your thoughts on geo-thermal heating and cooling systems?"
