I wish I had this advice when I started this insane game 18 months ago. This has virtually eliminated the right side of the course. Now i can focus on approach shots from the fairway and my short game. I hope this help others that are struggling.

Good video. It emphasizes a steady head and a good rotation. Thanks for sharing.

Along the same lines (no pun intended).
This is really a great exercise to stretch the necessary muscles.
I bought a 10’ wood curtain rod at Home Depot and cut it down to 8’.
The simple workout in the backyard has made a great difference.

Yes sir!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been working this drill for a week. Also get a kettle bell and simulate a slow golf swing. It builds some serious strength and you will find yourself crushing your drives.

If I did that, I'd have a hole dug to China. My clubs are fit to my height and I know if I dipped my shoulder that much, I'd have major turf issues.

This deserves a bump. GREAT DRILL FOR MAINTAINING SPINE ANGLE ON BACK SWING AND FOLLOW THROUGH!

I have a tendency to lose my spine angle on the follow through. Especially later in the round when I start to get tired. When I do, my draw turns into a pull hook.

once again, FANTASTIC DRILL.  I, myself, will add a little hip slide towards the target on the downswing, so it feels like an actual golf swing. I even finish up with my weight on my left side, for right hand golfer, on the follow through.

As for the comment above. It's just an exercise to get your body in shape to stay in the right spine/shoulder angle. However, in a good  golf swing your right shoulder will be coming down towards the ground on the swing plane as you move into impact position.

That's enough talk about the swing...............never rmind.

It's just a great exercise to improve your game, period!

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
