Have any of you experienced temporary neck pain such as a stiff neck in the morning or a sore neck after hunching over a computer terminal all day? For me it will ruin a round of golf. If you can't more your neck properly, you're in for a long frustrating day. No pain killers seem to work. Ben Gay just get hot, but the pain is still there. Try some medicinal eucalyptus oil. One squirt and the pain is gone. Works on any pain really. Arthritis, golfers elbow, headache, etc.. I keep a spray bottle in my golf bag at all times. Hope this helps someone.

All those exercises from @mvmac are very good and will help. But if the pain/stiffness is from using a computer all day then you really need to make sure your workstation is as ergonomic as possible and properly adjusted to you.

I had the problem that i was working 12hours a day on my laptop which was killing my neck big time. Two months ago i invested in a laptop stand to move the top of the screen to the right height and bought a USB keyboard and mouse to use. Neck pain no longer keeps me awake at night so adjusting my working environment as certainly helped me.

Now, for you this might not be the case but certainly check out the link and check you are working comfortably and looking after your back and neck: http://www.wikihow.com/Sit-at-a-Computer

I've concentrated a lot on the ergonomics while sitting at my computer. It's best to avoid the aches and pains, but it's good to know how to aleviate the pain if it's there. My biggest problem is waking up in the morning with what I call a "crick" in my neck. I don't know if it's from a draft, sleeping on my pillow wrong, or the wild night before. I've had it so bad that I couldn't rotate my neck at all. I had to rotate my whole upper body. It's almost impossible to play golf when i get this. I used to call my buddies and say i couldn't make it. It was that bad. Now I just squirt a little eucalyptus and I'm good to go. It's hell getting old....

Just battled a nice neck injury that I fought and fought (work on the desk a lot as well).  My ergonomics was not good and got it fixed.  Bigger issue is that I found out with an MRI that I have a herniated disk.  My golf game went to complete crap and was in constant pain.

If the pain does not get better I highly recommend seeing a doctor.  What you think is a basic neck pain could be more and playing golf is going to make it worse.  My doctor prescribed me specific meds which helped a great deal plus traction treatments will do wonders for your spine.

Not saying you have the issue I have but just throwing it out there in the event it gets worse or does not go away.  The neck and spine is not something to mess with.

    • Day 319 - More mirror work, same focus on finishing higher and more towards the target.
    • Day 135: worked on putting bead for a while with the 2 cups drill.
    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
    • First time playing this game, Spanish is my native language. It was impossible for me. After 4 worlds I run out of worlds that have the letters I've already found that can be combined with the remaining letters.. just repeated the 4th world to knew the answer. I know the world but it never came to my mind.
