I hit one today at DICK'S and was pretty impressed. The weights were set to neutral but I noticed that even my mis hits turned out really nicely. I'm too high of a handicapper to even think about spending the $400 on this club but I was wondering if I could get similar performance from the SLDR or Jetspeed which are available for much less.

I got a Rocketballz driver a few years ago after finally giving up my cut down 09 Burner. Didn't get much opportunity to play last season. Played twice now the past 2 weeks and already got my slice turned to straight and fade. I plan to play with the RBZ until the first R15 price drop and jump all over it. But like the poster above me, I'm finding it hard to spend 400 on my high handicap. But if I can get this drive lined out I think $250-$300 is manageable.

The timing is a bit apples to oranges to what we can expect for the R15 because the SLDR was a longer release cycle than TM can bring itself to have usually, but the SLDR driver was down to the $150 range shipped for its mint condition quality by mid-December of 2014 through TM Preowned, factoring in their sales and coupon codes, if that informs your buying decision at all.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
