I played with someone today who had one of these in their bags today. Had a pretty nice feel, made in USA, interesting weight system. Anyone using these out there?

I'm just curious, I've never really seen these putters out there.

Very good. Has a soft and slightly woody feel to it when hit solidly. Hit it off centre though and you'll know it immediately. Plays to 34" and feels a lot heavier than most other putters out there even when using the lighter weights. Good for those people who have the yips especially and makes the putt a true stoke rather a hit due to the weight. Grip is good but not sure if it is possible to get it replaced due to half the weighting system being installed in the butt end of the club (the other half is in the head). Finish is quite durable. Most other putters/clubs I've seen that are of a similar color wear off after a few days/weeks. Mine has been used for a few months and there has been no change.

interesting... I checked out his website and it seems he's changed his graphics (for the negative in my opinion).

on a completely random side note, my putter has always performed well but I'm always out on the prowl for something new. I have been checking out Slighter putters and received a refinish qoute of 200 for my cameron to be rewelded, a black oxide finish, some custom stamping, and a sound slot and wasn't very shocked by that number so I decided I'd throw together some specs for a custom Slighter putter.

I thought my specs weren't very exotic and my customized stampings were minimal. Anyways, I received my price quote this morning and he finalized everything for 503.95!
I almost fell out of my seat, that is such a rip off its unreal! Given I'd have a putter with my name on the bumpers like the pro's and all the custom aesthetics elements you only find on Circle T putters but still, 503! Performance wise I can't see it rolling any better than my scotty which I picked up for around half that price.

I do agree that $500 for a putter is a lot. However it would be a hand made, made for you and a one of a kind. You also could look at the $200 custom job to your $300 scotty is $500. At this point it's not about performance as it is about something unique and special to you.

Forgot to mention. These putters were not able to crack the so called "premium market" so they're extremely cheap right now... Here is a catalogue of some of the Wilson Staff KC putters, http://www.wilsonstaff.com/media/wil..._usa_2531f.pdf
and here is a close up version of one of his putters,

I'd love to have my name on my putters bumpers but thats a pretty steep price for some pretty simple additions. If you take a second and look at some of the custom putters made on his site they have all of this flashy crap all over them, how much are those?

on a side not, I was reading his forum and people were talking about it being 16 weeks since they ordered their putter and they still hadn't received it yet. Thats a pretty long wait...

I have a Kirk Currie KC1. Along with many others. I use an Odyssey Black Series #2 right now. Also have a Mizuno Bettinardi. The KC 1 can't be bought. I love the head and butt weighting system. Beautiful putter with many different weighting options for the price!!! Oh did I mention it feels GREAT also!

    • Lots of great info on this thread. Thanks everyone. I struggled with lag putts the other day, leaving a long second putt that too often I missed. Going to work on that standard length putt.    I found this episode of the Sweet Spot had a lot of helpful info too, similar to (my interpretation) of what was shared throughout this thread.  ‎The Sweet Spot - Golf Podcast: How to Become a Better Putter w/ Preston Combs on Apple Podcasts ‎Show The Sweet Spot - Golf Podcast, Ep How to Become a Better Putter w/ Preston Combs -...

    • I have made an effort in 2024 to do more mirror work and rehearsals. Pretty much every time I go into my room with the full length mirror or when I am at the gym I try to do at least 10-20 reps practicing my priority pieces of my swing. It takes like 30 seconds to a minute and I likely do that 2-3x per day most days. Come to find out, that work appears to be paying off. When I am at the range it feels easier and more natural to get into those positions because I've done hundreds of dry reps with them already.   As far as how much time should you be spending on the slow intentional swings to make the swing change vs practicing other skills, I think it depends on a couple things especially since we are in the middle of the playing season right now. First, what is your handicap/skill level? My answer is going to vary slightly if you're a 0.5hcp vs a 18.5hcp.  Second, what is your overall goal? Do you just want to shoot lower scores, do you have a specific tournament(s) in mind you want to peak for, do you just want to have a better looking golf swing? Third, where does your current level of ball striking compare to the rest of your game? Is ball striking a strength that you are trying to make stronger, are you a wizard around the green but struggle with approach shots, etc.   As a 2.5 who is trying to just shoot lower scores and peak for a few tournaments/events this year, I do spend some time working on slow intentional swings focusing on my priority piece, but it's not necessarily my primary focus. Right now with the amount of golf I'm playing I'm in more of a maintenance mode with my iron swing and utilizing my practice sessions to work on specific skills that haven't been good over the last few rounds. I'm not trying to do a complete overhaul or get major swing changes to stick mid-season.

    • Grip More in the fingers, left hand knuckles closer to parallell with shaft. Feels like a big change. Setup Shifting weight more forward to the balls of the feet and more bent over. Trying to get the hips closer to the ball so the middle of the hips is more over the ankles. Haven’t quite found the balance yet in the swing, but there are probably moving parts reponsible for that as well. Still a very mixed bag of shots, but generally an improvement. More shots around straight, a few that might have been small push-draws. Still some bananas going right. Clubface is varying a lot at impact, perhaps partly because of the grip change, but the flip isn’t helping either. Here’s an image to show the difference in torso angle at setup (yellow), shaft angle at setup (red) and shaft angle on the way down (green).
