Recently switched from a 913 D2 10.5*, Graphite Design Tour AD DI-6 shaft to SLDR 10.5* (same shaft).  Left the weight on the SLDR at standard and kept the loft at 10.5* (even though everyone says you need to increase loft).

Love the SLDR...picked up about 15 yards carry, and spin went from ~3000 with the 913 to ~2300 with the SLDR.  Only problem is my ball flight is still a bit high, which leads to a pretty small amount of roll; maybe 15 yards on firm fairways and almost none on soft.  Swing speed averages about 105 (low end) to 110 (high end).

Any suggestions on how to bring it down a bit without loosing carry yardage?  Ideally would like a more penetrating flights.  Thanks!

Probably will not happen.

You are getting near 2300 RPM, then you are at a good spot with the spin. I could say it might be the shaft. The Tour AD DI does say high launch with a mid kick point. So you might want to look at something with a higher kick point to launch it lower. You could always adjust the SLDR to a lower loft setting to see if that helps out a bit. You can probably get another 300-500 RPM off that 2300 with a lower loft setting.

I am curious why you would want it lower. Any kind of moisture or higher grass and the rollout gets killed. It seems like a little bounce out might symptomatic of a perfect trajectory.

I guess the best thing would be get to get on a trackman and see what the landing trajectory is.  I totally get that there are plenty of times when the roll just isn't going to happen, e.g., for a while after a rain storm.

Your results are exactly what the SLDR was designed to do.  High launch, low spin to increase carry distance with the same club head speed.  If you're hitting the ball solidly, the wind should not affect it much with low spin numbers.  "Penetrating" ball flight is not the answer to distance.  The longest hitters hit the ball very high.

(Also, you don't necessarily need to increase loft.  The goal is high launch angle--around 17 degrees.  You can certainly get that with a 10.5 degree driver.)

Yup, you're all pretty spot on.  Didn't realize how soggy the ground has been after a few rains, and how much it affects roll.  No rain in a couple weeks, and I'm carrying the same distance but getting 15-20 of rollout.  So I've basically picked up 25ish yards over the 913.  Longest drives I've ever hit...love it.
