Can anyone recommend a decent garment bag, the kind that will hold a couple of suits plus a few accessories? Every one I have owned has been absolute crap. The last one was the worst, I'd arrive at my destination and discover that all the hangers had slipped out of the latch and suits would be piled up in the bottom of the bag. I'm thinking of dropping some decent coin and getting a hard shell one, possibly with wheels but if I'm going to spend that kind of cash I don't want to get stuck with a lemon.

Something along these lines perhaps:

Am I the only one who is having trouble picturing EJ in a suit?

It's a banana suit.

Ok. Update.

So after some shopping around it looks like either Travelpro or Samsonite are the choice, but now I have a new conundrum! After looking at tons of hardshell rolling garment bags I have suddenly discovered something called a "suiter" which is more of a standard suitcase with an insert to hold suits. :bugout: Anyone try one of these and are they a good concept or a stupid concept? I would like to be able to fit a minimum of 2 suits plus other assorted crap and these look like a good hybrid between a traditional suitcase and a garment bag..

Maybe @David in FL has experience with these "suiters"?

Sorry, no. I seldom need a suit, so I tend to stick with a 22" roller board that I don't have to check. I can fit a week's worth of business casual wear and not have to deal with the hassle. I know they're a top brand, but I have to say that I haven't been that impressed with the durability of samsonite soft luggage. I especially had trouble with their wheels. But again, I put a lot more miles on mine than the average guy.....

Alright thanks. I'll probably heed your advice re: Samsonite. I expect to be travelling semi-weekly, so probably average around 6-8 flights a month and I'd rather buy something once (especially since there is little to no price difference between Samsonite and TravelPro)

Spent an hour looking at luggage. Like the TravelPros but they just don't have the right combination of carry-on size and room for minimum 2 suits. I may have to pony up for Briggs and Riley. I was just starting to get over the sticker shock of TravelPro and now I've doubled it. :bugout:

No experience with them, but I know they have a good reputation. Make sure the wheels are easily replaceable....that's the main wear point for most luggage these days. If you travel a lot, you're absolutely right to get GOOD luggage, whatever brand. You'll never regret it.

    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
