I will be retiring March 31.  I currently have a MacBook Pro and and ipad that I will turn in.  Never really fell in love with the ipad, so as I get closer to retirement, I will need to get something.  Use will be deemed LIGHT, as I will really only use it for e-mail, surfing the web.  Not going to download or stream videos.

What might you guys recommend I look at?

Roy

Depends on what you want to pay and what you need.

Will you only be using wifi or do you need 4g cell phone internet? Maybe a nicer cell phone instead of a tablet to serve multiple purposes/

I personally have the original Windows Surface RT - it is wifi only, but 90% of its use is for spreadsheets and customer info while I am working. They say the new surface can replace a laptop - it better at twice the cost of one.

My phone is basically a mini Tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note Edge) - at 5.6 inches plus side screen, more than usable for everything,

Even my ipod touch can do all of what you are looking for (although I wonder how people typed on those iphone 5s - i havent had a phone that small in at least 4-5 years)

I like ipads, so I'd get another.  But it not an ipad, how about a Chromebook?  They're in a laptop form factor and run Chrome OS.  Ideal for web surfing and light use.  And you'd avoid Windows, which would be a plus for me.

How about a nexus 7? They are about half the cost of an ipad and run android. They are easy to use, I have one instead of an ipad, I also have a toshiba chromebook on the way that I ordered for my kids to use.

    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
    • I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
