Ditching the lob wedge?

I probably use my LW 4-5 times per round, only because I hit it a long way. Around the green I mostly use my SW and PW. If I didn't hit it as far I'd probably lose it too

Well, you pointed out something that got my attention.   I ended up using 60/3 for my bunker shots b/c my range's sand practice required it.  It has hard sand and using low bounce wedge was a must.   But I need to stop blindly grabbing my lob wedge for all bunker shots.  Sand condition of my home course varies from bunker to bunker and there were times I screwed up my shot trying to hit through fluffy sand.  In those instances, I could have done better with 56/12 wedge.     Ditto for muddy days.  I could have used high bounce wedge (SW) instead of 52 or 60 wedges with low bounce.

Used my SW instead LW once out of bunker in yesterday's round.   The ball was sitting on top of a fluffy looking sand.  When I used LW in this situation before, I hit short sometimes and the ball would still end up in the same bunker.   This time, I got the ball cleanly out onto the green.    Did use SW in a few other situations (e.g, ball in fluffy grass) instead of LW when more bounce was called for.  In the past, I may have given up a few strokes by not correctly utilizing my SW & LW.   Lesson learned.
