A member at the club I work at is a PGA Tour Scotty Cameron rep, I should say the rep besides Scotty himself. But he made a couple putters for our Pros, a Circle T TeI3 for our Head Pro, Circle T Detour 2 for the director of instruction, and Circle T Red X3 for our First Assistant. He thought the pros at "his" club should have Scotty's in their bags.

So we got to talking, I absolutely love the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour. I mean it's like a fantasy to me just to be able to work like he does, to be out there with pro's and making putters. So I asked him able the new Tour Terillyum Ten that Scotty just made for the Anniversary of the TeI3. I love this putter, it's basically a Newport 2 with a Terillyum insert and the classic stainless steel finish instead of the Black.

I asked him what's the possibility of getting one anytime. He says "They're untouchable . Scotty's only made 4-5 for a couple of Tour Pros, for some reason he hasn't made anymore after the PGA Champ. I've got 6-7 Pros waiting for them now. He said but if I do have any extras I'll call you!"

I was ecstatic! Even the remote chance of me getting this putter made me feel like a kid at Christmas! But until then I'm going to stick with a Pro Platinum or whatever.

Anyways just wanted to tell that story....thanks for stopping by.

Well they don't really sell the equipment, the reason your Sumo was so bloody expensive is because they give them to Tour Pros for free.

At every Tour stop on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday the tour van's put out all their stuff out, Putters, Wedges, Drivers, Woods, Hybrids and all the Pros can grab pretty much whatever they want.

So people ask why the club's cost so much it's due to that but also the amount of R&D; that's involved. But the Pros are the final step before the club goes on the market.

The majority of the reason a club costs so much has very little to do with the fact they give them to the pros. The tiny amount it costs them to supply the pros equipment pales in comparison to the amount they spend in R&D;, and especially marketing. Tiger Wood costs them maybe 30 grand a year to manufacture his clubs. Thats nothing compared to the 100 million or so they pay him to play them. Same goes for all the major club brands. The big money is spent getting the pros to play the clubs (marketing) not on the clubs themselves.

The first cameron I saw was a TeI3, I insistantly feel in love. My first and current cameron is a Studio Design 1.5 (slant neck) and would not trade it for the world.

I beleive Camerons are turely one of a kind.

Good story!

Although I've never owned a Cameron (never really cared for them enough to buy/own one), I have always liked the look of the Newport 2 and 2.5

i was talking about my sumo he made reference to. i dont know about scotty stuff, i guess just use paypal and trust the seller and if he is a lier, go through paypal to get your money back. be sure to read through the sellers feedback too. scotty stuff is normally the same price everywhere so ebay doesnt save you much when buying scottys new or used.
