Any suggestions on a new shaft for my g30 driver. I love the way the club looks but I feel like I have very little control or feel of the club throughout my swing. I was fitted for the club and my ss measured at an average 95 mph. It was recommended that I get the standard ping regular shaft and get a 9 degree head set to -1 to create 8 degrees of loft due to my angle of attack, but after always using stiff shafts and trying my mates jetspeed (which I loved) fitted with a stiff I am beginning to regret not even trying the stiff at the fitting. The vast majority of my drives seem to be left of target, any recommendations for a good value shaft

Where were you fitted? Doesn't sound like they did too good of a job. If you couldn't feel the club throughout the swing you probably should have mentioned it at the fitting.

What kind of trajectory were you looking to get out of the new shaft? Do you know the kick point in your other clubs? Need to get a sense of your preferences before recommending anything.

I had fujikura fuels put in my g30 driver and fw wood. The shafts were pured and are very smooth and effortless. I got the best numbers with these during my fitting after hitting 10 or so different shafts. ( fujikura pro was a close second)

I think your right about me not mentioning the feel of the club, but this was my first fitting and didn't really know what I wanted. I believe the fitter only tried the regular as this was what was in my last driver. My clubhead speed is probably at the lower end of stiff high end of regular so with hindsight I should have definitely tried both. As I mentioned I loved the feel of the jetspeed so was looking for a shaft with similar properties to the matrix velox t fitted to the jetspeed as standard. As regards to loft I think a mid launch shaft would suit as I do hit the ball fairly high, but I I don't want to be struggling to get the ball in the air. I know I'm being rather vague but I'm not really clued up on this kind of thing.

Not 100 percent sure but I believe my launch angle was around 16-17 degrees and spin rates approx 2800-3000. Regarding smash factor I'm really not sure. He did mention that I swept up on the ball quite a lot hence setting it to 8 degrees. What effect would adding a heavier weight in the head have. I believe the plastic one weighs around 7g but there are aftermarket weights available.

Some good shafts you can install for cheap. It is a really easy DIY project without of tools needed.

The shaft I have installed in my G30 is a Grafaloy Bi-Matrx X-flex, but I'd be hesitant to recommend a regular or stiff in the same shaft from my experience since they ate literally two different shafts (the bend profile of the x is waaaaaaay different than the other flexes). Having played the Prolaunch Red and the UST Proforce V2, I would recommend them both as good budget aftermarket shafts, with a preference towards the UST.

Before you go buying a new shaft, talk to the store where you bought it. They (or the local Ping rep) may be willing to switch it out for you with another stock shaft. The hosel makes it easy enough. The blue TFC is a pretty light stiff and may well be a better fit. See if they'll refit you just for the shaft. I find the suggestion of playing the driver at 8 degrees kind of surprising.

Yes, I agree with this as a first step.

Also, where did you buy it? Some stores have a 30 or 90 day return policy.
