NY Golf Center on 35th near Macy's is very highly regarded as a clubfitter, I have to imagine they do club alterations on site. May be pricier than Golfsmith, they seem to charge a decent premium on most of what they do

Thanks, I just picked up a TM Jetspeed driver to replace my burner SF 2.0, and I'm thinking the stock shaft might be a bit too long.

One other question, I'm a high handicap, and relatively short (5'8"). Should I just get the stock shaft cut down to 44 inches from 46 instead of replacing it?

Check the fitting guidelines on the manufacturer's website. Wrist to floor measurement is more relevant than your absolute height. 46" is long for anyone though. The answer is to get fit and not play guessing games, but if you can't or don't want to shell out the money (understandable) maybe try some shorter drivers and see how you get on. Cutting a shaft 2 inches can make a big difference to weight and flex though so be careful.
