This piece is focused on the Coachella Valley, so not sure about the rest of California. Looks like it'll be decided for sure end of April, early May. Anyways, hope you get a lot rain out there in California.

Quote:
California's state water board on Saturday proposed new emergency drought rules that would require golf courses using private wells to make significant cutbacks in water use.

Under the draft regulations released by the State Water Resources Control Board, golf courses and other commercial properties that rely on an "independent source of water supply" would be required to limit irrigation to two days a week or achieve a 25 percent reduction in water use.

That could mean big changes for many of the Coachella Valley's 122 golf courses, a majority of which rely on private wells.

It's probably going to happen. Palm Desert has already mandated water cut backs in their city parks. We're going to see courses with a lot more brown this summer.

Wish you could take some of our rain. It really wont stop here. But I agree that golf courses, homes, businesses etc in cali need to cut back for now. They also need to really invest in a cost effective way to purify salt water and problem would be solved.
