Starting with Wells Fargo, wanted to wait until I had a decent enough team to put out there.. Draft Kings

Have 6 teams going this week and have been breaking even or plus the past month. Wow is it hard to latch onto 6 golfers that make the cut..

I have no ties to it either if anyone thinks I am trolling... Just awesome to do and it is legal... Like a mini visit to the casino without the trip... Makes picks on weds. and watch on your phone...

Watching on phone is fun and also upseting a little when... like this week : O'hair, Kokrak, Sabbatini shoot a bad first round... Probably a bunch of guys that have those 3

Kok.. wont make the cut unless he goes 64 tomorrow. Cut line will be under par most likely.. Stenson, Hoffman, Oosth, Schwarzel, Howell III all played a bunch as guys that usually make the cut... Hard to hit it and who knows what tomorrow brings.

My best one... if anyone cares to keep track has ; Scott, Ogilvy, Kisner, Reed, Streelman and Thomas. Right now that team is 303 out of 6337 and would pay back $70 on a $27 bet.... Pretty easy to get your money back and keep in play week to week. Hard to hit the big one...

Another is 1522 of 38500 and has Matsuya, De Jonge, Streelman, Stefani, reed and Thomas. Pays $10 on a 3$ bet....

I've ever understood how this stuff is legal but online poker is not.  Gambling is gambling.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Rich - in name only

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid post but surely there are ways and means of getting a proper bet on in the US without having to resort to this type of lottery, or having to take a trip to a casino.

Being from the UK and knowing how big the gambling industry is there (where walking into a bookies is like walking into a coffee shop) it seems almost inconceivable that in a country like the US you cant have a few dollars interest on the golf each week. I guess you still can in some states, i don't know how widespread the ban on gambling is.

surely there are ways of getting round it, vpn etc?

I live in Thailand and gambing is banned here also but it doesnt really surprise me here. It does however surprise me with a country like the US.

Hey Jodie,

The thing about the USA that differs from the U.K. is the money control in this country. In a nutshell, if the top 1% are not making money on money spent by the 99%. They will stop or make control of such. Thus, NO... you can't legally bet here unless you are in the right town. Plenty of bookies, but they are not the type as you would see in the U.K. They are very shady 95% of the time and usually controlled by a syndicate.

Then there are the growing ban of conservatives (read turtlebacks post). In this country ones mind can be controlled via Media, NRA, Koch brothers, and your southern baptist preacher. Very Conservative and devote are many americans. They believe what they are told on TV and the rich republican are telling them they need to live a certain way. The way that best suits the rich to make more money. They are manipulated by Fox Tv Mostly... Just the way Hitler controlled the German media.. Fox does the same exact thing. Preaching about things that forward the republican parties agenda. AMazing how stupid so many are to buy into it. Clean shaven, pickup truck driving, gun in pocket, church several times a week. Not because their fathers believed in this 50 years ago. But !!! Because they are being told to be this.... Who you should be ! You need a gun in your pocket to protect yourself at all times... It is sickening... They are weak minded people that can't think for themselves. They follow the crowd of protection and do what they are told. All the while walking around with their chest puffed out because they have a gun.

I have "0" dollars winning right now. Losing all ! That is how fast it changes. As soon as Adam Scoot and De Jonge didn't make the cut, both with bad score.

McElroy is a beast ! No two ways about it..

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
