During the US Senior Open, I thought I heard a couple of times announcers referring to Maggert having a reverse C finish. Did I hear right?

It doesn't look extreme as say Johnny Miller in his prime to me. Maggert's weight is going forward, he's well on his lead side, although his trail foot, it doesn't look totally on the tips of his toes. I wonder what a pressure plate reading of his swing would show. There's definitely more tilt away from the target at the end of the swing.

I guess my point here is, are people saying reverse c because of a look, or is he really a reverse c, more weight hanging back?

Reverse C always referred to the head staying back while the hips went forward. Miller's weight (pressure) was well forward as is Maggert's.

Not sure it factors in to his finish but Charlie Rhymer analyzed his swing today and said that for his long irons he uses a huge axis tilt at setup. He told us to not be afraid to try that for consistent strikes. He mentioned that "hanging back" was Maggert's secret to success.

Whoops, I had a senior moment, letting some aspects of "reverse pivot" seep into my definition of "reverse c".

In general, I think when announcers talk about reverse C, the subtext of it is don't do too much of it or contrive it because back problems?
