I have read Sandtrap's review about this club. However, I would like to get the sandtrappers' personal feedback/review regarding this club. Please give as much information as possible regarding ball flight, sound, feel, playability on the tee/off the deck/rough etc etc. Also please mention which shaft you used to test this club. Also if you have tried both 906F2 and 906F4 please give a comparison on that as well. Thanks.

Well my thoughts were in the review... I preferred the 906F2 because it has a deeper face and doesn't try to help get the ball up higher.

As a higher handicapper, I must say that I was very impressed with the 906F4. I liked the low profile, classic shape of the club. I bought one and had it reshafted with an Aldila NV shaft, similar to what I have in my hybrids. I also had the length adjusted to 42.5." Because of its design, the 906F4 is an easy club for a mid to high handicapper to use. I like Erik's review. I've never demoed the 906F2, but after reading his review and hitting the 906F4, I didn't feel the need to. I'm very pleased with my new 3 wood. And, I have to admit, I didn't think I would ever be using a Titleist fairway wood because they seemed to make them only for better players. The 906F4 is made for those of us who, for whatever reason, have a handicap north of 10.

Allow me to amend a remark I made. I said above that the 906F4 is for higher handicappers. I suppose a more accurate statement might be: The 906F4 is for those golfers who prefer what the F4 provides them; specifically, it is easy to get the ball in the air with this club, which is not always the case with 3 woods ( at least for some golfers ). I make this amend because I noticed in reading a recent Golf Digest that Charley Hoffman, obviously NOT a high handicapper, uses this club. I am sure other lower handicappers use it, too. They can put in it a shaft appropriate to their swing speed, that also provides them the ball flight they prefer. I meant to infer, instead, that Titleist, a company not known for making clubs for the average golfer, has produced a fairway wood ( the 906F4 ), that even higher handicappers can use with success. Sorry for any confusion.

Sorry to steal this thread slightly but can't find this info anywhere. The 906F2 18 degree is 42.5" in length. Anyone know the length of the 18 degree in steel? it's not on the titleist site I assume it's 42"?

    • Day 1: 2026.01.03 Played 18 at Cape Kidnappers. Getting back into it after a few days off. Mixed results.
    • Day 40: short range session. Worked on my drill mostly. Finished with some full swings and driver swings. Range was packed because it was so nice out. Solid session though.
    • Day 5, 1/3/26.  Today was a weird day schedule-wise, but I did find 15 minutes to hit 6-iron shots (indoors, off a mat, into a net).  I also got to thinking about yesterday's round and, other than a few thin shots (that I think were weather/grip related), I didn't have any wild non-driver shots, which was weird for me.  I need to get back to video, which is tough in my setup. Also, this wouldn't count on its own, but anyone reading this and thinking about doing their own 5 minutes daily, check out Fit for Golf's latest podcast episode.  It's only a few minutes and Mike does a great job talking about the importance of doing a bit each day.  That also reminded me, I let my FFG subscription lapse, I'm going to renew it.
