Just... No to this tweet: When Mother Nature takes things to the next level, but you still finish 18.

so we decided to park the carts under a bunch of trees.  We saw a bright flash and the sound was deafening.  Lightning had struck a tree about 100 feet from where we were, split it in two.

Isn't under a tree one of the worst places to be in a lightening storm? I guess it would be a better option than the middle of a fairway though

My 'real job' is being a professional photographer and retoucher, so I'm going to call fake on this one I think. Here's why: The placement of the lightning looks funky. Like someone above mentioned, it actually looks like some of it is in front of the bush. Also, two of the branches of lightning on the left hand side look like they just stop dead AT the bush, which isn't right either. But most importantly, if you look at the club head, it's blurred. If you want to take pictures of lightning, you have to have a long camera exposure or some sort of optic eye release combined, and something tells me this was shot with an iPhone. The blurry club shows that someone just went 'click' with a regular timed exposure. If it were a long exposure, they would have to sit there and keep doing long exposures so as to get enough and not overexpose the rest of the scene, making the golfer sit there in a lightning storm (hopefully not). The blur on the club is simple motion blur that shows up when shutter speed wasn't fast enough for that particular exposure. The type of blur that would show up on a long exposure would be a duplicating image blur.

It's not a great place for sure but we thought it was better than the middle of the fairway, plus the hail was pretty large, about the size of a marble.

Doesn't sound like a nice situation to be in, glad no one got hurt
