Question about the On-line coaching... I know that there are some old threads that deal with this, but things change as time goes by. I am looking for some direction with my swing.... very erratic... sometime good and sometimes not so much. I love to practice and continually re-invest my swing. I have the Perfect Impact series and went through it on multiple time by feel I am missing something. I am ready to go to the next step, but not sure which way to go. Does anyone have any experiences to share to help direct me to on-line training, local club training, etc. I looked over a few sites on the web and am leaning to using Evolvr but not sure. Any thoughts?

Regards,

Dave

I'm using Evolvr and love it so that would be my only recommendation. I actually really like online lessons compared to tradition ones that I use to take.

I'm using Evolvr as well, the coach that I'm working with has been very helpful. Showing examples of what he is talking about right next to my swing on video. They also draw lines. One thing I think they can improve on is telling the student what they are doing well or things about there swing that is excellent. I've just started with them a month ago and a few times I've heard you do something really well, but right now we are going to focus on weight forward.

I don't think you will be disappointed at all if you go with their service. Also waiting for your analysis to come back is like when you were a child and you had to wait for your parents to get up and have coffee/breakfast before you could open presents. :P

@Dave325 You won't be dissapointed. If you want you could also go to http://thesandtrap.com/t/82891/my-swing-cody-book which I have 2 of my lessons posted there at the bottom if you wanted to see what they were like. Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to start your own myswing thread and post your videos. It will create a little bit of a journal for you.

One last thing, do make sure you download the videos as they do disappear after 30-days.

Just a follow-up on my original post.... I went with the Evolvr subscription and had my first analysis. I took the recommendations, practiced every day and had awesome results. I went out this past Thursday and had 6 pars and one birdie. And the greatest thing... I learned to love the game again... something I haven't done in a long, long time. Thanks everyone for their support and recommendations. I truly appreciate it.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
