Hey guys! This is my first post so please forgive me if i totally sha** this. Im completely undecided on my golf ball choice and its driving me crazy. One week i swear i want the callaway supersoft and the next i just wanna return to old faithful nike pd soft esp since it not only comes in yellow but comes in a yellow i love. Any thoughts?

Golf balls are a pretty personal choice, obviously with all the choices.  If both perform the same, stick with Nike since you prefer its color.  Ultimately stick with the ball you have the most confidence in, be it by performance or visual.

It's not that long of a commitment, haha. Just go with both! Realistically, you won't see much difference in performance. I do think the Supersoft has a distinct (and I think unpleasant) feel to it. But neither should impact your score compared to the other.

Thanks guys. Keep the replies coming. Had some room on the course for a change and tried to test both balls side by side. That just made it worse. Score wise the nike came out on top by 8 strokes over 4 or six holes i played before reaching 18. Problem is i ve shot my lowest rounds ever with the super soft by a significant margin and during my testing i goofed and always played the nike second and as we all know, that second golfer is always better. Lol

Theres been some talk of trajectory on another thread im on and thats got me thinking about stopping power and high trajectory. I always hit the ss a little higher so im starting to lean that way cus i need all the stopping power i can get without going to a tour ball.

I have a suggestion for you, take both balls and play a "testing round" with both balls. See what ball you prefer when:

*Driving

*Irons

*Short game

*Putting

Don't put that much into the scores with each ball, but the feel. Confidence helps you play better = Lower scores.

For example. I recently switched from Callaway's Warbird, to Callaway's SR3, and on to Nike's RZN Black.
Why?

Warbird felt too soft for me when putting, it didn't give me any confidence in the putting. (Especially length wise)

SR3 was better on the greens, but didn't feel as well of the irons.

The RZN feels good on the greens and off the irons.

Driving and with the short game, I'd say they're about the same, but I do hit my shots with a decent amount of spin.

Am I shooting lower scores? Sometimes. Do I have more chances on low scoring? Yup. Is it all in my head? Probably 95%, but it works! ;)

Use the ball that gives you the most confidence :)

I've played both in the past on wet courses.

They are similar - I'd go with the newer design - the Supersofts.

Nike PD Soft was my ball of choice at one point. It really is a solid ball, especially at it's price point. I played a box of the Callaway Supersoft earlier this year (I'll try anything if it's free). It was a solid ball as well. I'd probably go with Nike because they're similar, but cheaper... I'm all about value

U said at one point the pd soft was ur choice and u have tried ss. Curious? What ball do u play now? Sounds like we may have similar taste

Ok, solved your problem.

Go to http://snellgolf.com/products/get-sum/

For $20.99 shipped, you get a better ball.

HECK, if you buy 3 dz, they are only $15/dz -- DEAL OF THE CENTURY.

This line of balls is getting great reviews, developed by one of the designers of the ProV1 and Taylormade balls.

I bought my son a couple of sleeves when I bought the sample pack, tried them on the course, and they are excellent -- gives you distance, not as grabby around the greens as a urethane ball (of course), but still has decent spin - just need to plan for more roll than a urethane.

Callaway Hex Black Tour... However, they're discontinued. I picked up a dozen boxes when they went on clearance... But I'm down to my last box. If I'm paying full price, I go with the NXT Tour. I either buy those, or pick up some tour quality balls when they're on sale (regardless of brand, they really are all great balls). Every year I also get 4-5 dozen boxes of ProV 1x for Christmas & bday. ProV 1x are probably my favorite that are out now, but I can't get over paying $40-50 a box

Callaway makes great golf balls. Thats probably another fear i have about switching to the supersoft, its great, but that means callaway will probably discontinue it asap.

They all make great balls. If you find one you like, which sounds like the Callaway Supersoft, go with it. If it's ever discontinued, then in to the next (or you know you can fall back on the Nike PD Soft).

Very true. Im gonna play the supersoft next few rounds and see how things go. I like it a tad better off the tee and the higher launch characteristics should help me get it airborne and provide more stopping power on the greens. Thanks all
