No matter what I tried I just couldn't fix my problem of slicing the ball much too often until I watched an instruction video. The video said that when I set up to tee off I need to bend over slightly at the waist while not bending at the knees at all. When you set up like this it brings the ball in closer to you rather than out away from you like when you bend at the knees. This one tip has completely eliminated my slice. Just thought I would share this because I know there are plenty of golfers who can't seem to fix their slice. If you're a ball slicer try setting up as I mentioned and see if you don't get better results.

You could go the Nancy Lopez route which is basically what DeChambeau uses only she started with low hands and raised them up.There is of course a youtube video showing what she did.

Note: I do not answer direct questions or points raised against my untested and unproven theories, have no history of teaching anyone, and post essentially the same nonsense in everyone's Member Swing threads.

If I understand the Lopez concept, you're basically choking down on the club grip which will in turn give you less power and less distance on your drives. With my method there is no choking down on the club grip and no loss of power or distance on drives.

The Somax videos are a joke. How could you believe anything those guys say when they make videos like this? http://thesandtrap.com/forums/topic/75116-goofy-rory-video-knee-angle-measurement-in-golf-swing/

What they did to Phil was ridiculous, his spine angle clearly isn't that upright at impact. The line they drew didn't line up with Phil's spine at all.

I like the idea of bending over more.  Most golfers I see are too upright.  Not as sure about not bending the knees though.  I like to get my legs involved for some power.

If it works, keep it going.

Simply put,NL had her own technique which worked no matter who analyses it. 9wood might want to try it,he might not.

Technique is in the fundamentals, not personal idiosyncrasies.

add in "for her only" at the end of that bolded part. This is like people saying you should copy Hogan yet we are not Hogan. We need to find what works for us. There is 5 keys to the golf swing. Figuring out how to achieve those with our own ability is the key to making progress to improve the golf swing.

I am sure NL will put her swing and  pro record up against yours.

I am sure she will, if she was actually playing against him. Yet she is not. We are talking about golf swings. With someone who is a clearly outlier, like a Furyk, in the fact she has a unique move in her swing that she is capable of doing does not mean we should copy it.

Is this your opinion or a rule of golf ?

More like common sense. It's common sense we shouldn't be copying Bubba Watson's swing. We are not 6'4" tall that can turn our hips over 60 degrees on the backswing and have the hand eye coordination he does. It's common sense not to copy Hogan when all he described in his books were what he felt with his swing. Which we don't feel because we are not him. It's common sense not to copy Jim Furyk's backswing, sorry David Leadbetter. It's common sense we shouldn't copy Nancy Lopez when she has a very unique move that works for her. Yet we are not her.

Hey, it's not a rule. Common sense is not a rule. People break it all the time. Like a lot of what you post.

Her swing is good because she has the fundamentals, the parts you're mentioning aren't going to be relevant to other individuals. Just like how you responded was not relevant to my reply.

I might try it but if I am currently getting off good tee shots then what can I gain?
