On the Huddler site, we had awards for things like Member of the Year or Month, Kickstarter of the Month, and even silly things like "Stupid Monkey" or "Lowest Score Wins" reader, etc.

The new site hasn't had them yet because the plugin/application is still being developed. It's in beta stages now, but rather than just use the old images, I'd like to consider standardizing.

Is there anyone out there who has some experience with graphic design (and by some I mean more than me - I like to say I know enough to be dangerous) who is interested in helping me by designing some new awards? They'll probably be about 64 x 64 (so when they display at 32 x 32 they will ideally look good on both hi-res displays as well as normal displays), and fairly consistent, except for the obvious "mark" on them which shows what they're for. But, they can be any size/shape rectangle, and aren't limited to squares.

They can also go in two areas: beneath the signature or in the "info pane" (which is where the avatar, username, etc. are). I'll probably keep them all beneath the signature, but I'm open to making some of the awards smaller, probably black, for just the user info area.

I be willing to assist with drawings and graphic designs.

I've mainly worked with Corel and have used Adobe Illustrator in the past.

What file format have you used for the badges, gif, bitmap, jpeg, etc?

How about animation ideas?

John, I'm looking to see if anyone with actual experience wants to help. Otherwise I'll just do it.

And no animations. :-)

The new graphics on the forum categories page look very cool. Nice job to whoever picked or created them.

Thanks. I probably could have spent my time better last night than doing that, but what the heck… they look better than the same old bubbles for every sub-forum. :-)

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
