Well, I got my Adams IDEA irons today...picked them up and went STRAIGHT to the practice range. Hit about 400 balls with them and was simply SPANKING them. Straight down the fairway with decent yardages. A few fades, a few draws (not on purpose though) and man, are those hybrids SWEET?!?!?! Well, I was swinging them well and hittin em straight so I figure "why not go to the course and try these baby's on some REAL holes"? Well, let me tell you, that was a MISTAKE!

It seems like I hit them SO well and was swinging SO well on the practice range, only to get to the course with these new clubs and completely forget how to hit a golf ball. I mean, hardly any of my shots were like they were at the range. They were short, sliced, hooked, duffed and even a shank! For the life of me, I cant figure out how i can hit them SO well on the range and cant remember what a club LOOKS like on the course. WTF is wrong with me?

The clubs ARE sweet though. I just need a driver and 3 wood now as Im hitting freakin Spaulding WOODEN woods, and Im not hitting them very far. It's a danged shame that I hit that 3 iron hybrid further than I do my driver. Plus, my hands sting every time I hit those woods.

So, that was my day today. One good thing that came out of it was i DID par 2 holes and ended up with a 47 on 9. It's better than bogeying and double bogeying everything and ending up mid 50's for 9. Today was the first 2 pars since I have been back to playing (a little over three weeks) so Im proud of that.

Now, if i can bring my practice swings to the course, i will be golden!

Heh heh. 400 is a hella lot of balls. Vijay probably doesn't even go through 400 balls........................................ per hour.

How old are you? It would take me at least 4-5 hours to hit that many balls if I was actually hitting shots? I would be to exhausted to actually play. I am 50 but reasonably fit.

if you shoot in the 80's that's like playing 5 complete rounds of golf then heading out to play another nine holes. I wouldn't worry about it. I bet you had a lot of adrenaline helping you on the range cause you had new clubs.
