R2 seems to make a lot of cameo's / Easter Egg moments in other movies. 

Maybe the coolest one is in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. 

There is that famous bet between Spielberg and Lucas on which movie would do better in the Box Office and they bet 2.5% on the sales of each movie.

Since they were made in the same year. I wonder if Lucas allowed Spielberg to use one of the R2-D2 models for the set.
