For those looking for what golf ball is best for them, here is a spin chart which may help your decision...

To bad it's 2014 ;) 

It does show a few things,

1. Primary driver of spin rate on wedge shots is the cover. 

2. Urethane cover golf balls only spin on average 150-200 more rpm's off the driver. 

3. All premium golf balls perform nearly same. High low on the driver spin is 350 rpms. High low on the wedge spine is 800 rpms. All you are doing is fine tuning when you chose a premium golf ball.

Agree. That's why most premium ball companies suggest you work from the green back to select a ball.

Yeah, it would be nice if they (or somebody) could update to the current balls.  DT Solo isn't made anymore, replaced by DT TruSoft.

More than that, I would like to see it expanded to include other brands as well: Snell, KickX, MG C4.

I agree.  Wish they had the latest, but it's still pretty useful.

Most premium balls work about the same for me as well.  I go quite a bit by the feel of the ball.

    • Day 527 - 2026-03-12 Took a day off (from going downtown). So, mirror and laser work. Plus like two minutes messing with some old putters.
    • Day 4 (12 Mar 26) - nine hole session with grandson - played along side him from most fwd tees with seven  club setup -D,7w, 5,7,9,55° and putter.  Worked with him on his green side approach play.  Had some great shot making opportunities on my own, best part was seeing him make solid swings.  
    • Day 80 - 2026-03-12 30 minutes at the range playing some simulated holes, picking targets, etc. 15 minutes of putting work.
