Has Spieth gained 10-15 yds  with his driver so far this year, compared to last year?

Here is his raw numbers,

2016
Club Head Speed: 111.57
Ball Speed: 168
Launch Angle: 11.78
Spin Rate: 2445

2015
Club Head Speed: 112.8
Ball Speed: 169
Launch Angle: 11.74
Spin Rate: 2566

He should on average be carrying the ball one yard shorter.

His numbers are basically identical to last year. The only change is that it's early in the season. The courses they play early in the season typically inflate the driving distance numbers of all tour players.

More interesting because distance was something he focused on during his albeit, short off-season.  As was the wedge game, which similarly has not improved.  He got caught up in the allure of travel and appearance fees (for which I don't blame him).  He'll be back to normal by July, just in time to sweep the British, Olympics, and PGA.

His ball striking with the short irons are definitely off. Shots he was sticking to 10-15 feet last year he's putting 25-30 feet this year and putting more pressure on the putter. Also, mishitting a lot more shots. Even today, he made some long putts that on the front 9 that got him going but on the back 9 it was the same old song and dance where he was hitting bad irons.

Or is being a little less confidence in the putting creating tension on his approaches?
