Had a Demo Day at my local range on Randall's Island this morning and they offered a 10 minute tracking station session with one of the teaching Pros as part of a $25 deal (Large bucket w/130 balls, raffle entry, demos, hot dog and a drink, as well as the session.) Got my numbers checked . 10 minutes doesn't seem like a lot but it was plenty to hit about 10 7 irons and 10 drivers with a bit of an explanation on the numbers and results. It was also supposed to include a "mini-lesson" with the tracking but I think he realized that I didn't really need or want something that might mess me up. Afterwards he sent me a spread sheet with the numbers. Shots 9,10, 11 were a goof- forgot to change settings from iron to driver. Only real comment he made was that my "smash factor" was a tad low on the irons but good on the Driver. Overall, I'm pretty pleased. (Columns don't line up exactly right, but you'll figure it out.)

Oh, if this is in the wrong area, feel free to put it in the right spot.

This is really annoying. Can't get the "Total" column to show up... It shows in the creating window but not in the final window. Even tried to shrink the text.

Good swings! I like the launch angle with the driver. Only thing that I'd pick up on is that a good fitter could probably gain you some yards by cutting down the spin rate with the driver. Looks nice and consistent though, keep it up!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

What's in the bag: Callaway X2 Hot Driver, Titleist 915F 3 wood, X2 Hot 3 Hybrid, 3, 5-AW Apex Pro irons, 54*, 58* Cleveland RTX, Odyssey Versa 1 Putter

Thanks. and yes- as unbelievable as it seems the last two were identical. We BOTH looked at it a couple of times on the machine AND his tablet. Now- whether they actually were identical or a glitch, that's what was recorded. <Shrug>

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
