I am looking to reshaft my ap1s and I am not sure which shaft to buy. Online I've read AP1s are .355 tapered, can I trim a .370 to fit in the head of AP1s? Does it ruin the integrity of the shaft, steel or graphite?

First, welcome to TST. Good to hear that NCal is finally getting rain.

As for your AP1 question, you need to give us more information to work with:

  • What model/year AP1 do you have?
  • What current shaft do you have in the AP1s?
  • Why do you want to reshaft? What is your goal?

Note: You would need to reshaft with another .355 tapered shaft.  You buy the taper replacements as a set, with the tips pre-cut for each of your irons. (You can't tip cut a taper, or it won't fit correctly.)

A .370 shaft is parallel tip, which is thicker and won't fit the hosel of the AP1.

Again, it's good to have you at TST!
